CELINA, Texas — Celina Oktoberfest returns to the Downtown Square on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 3 to 7 p.m., as the city adds the community tradition to its lineup of signature events.

The free, family-friendly festival is presented by Sinacola. Organizers say the square will feature traditional live music and folk dancing, German-inspired food, local vendors, competitions, and kids' activities.

Guests are encouraged to wear lederhosen or dirndls. The Main Stage, sponsored by REX Real Estate, is scheduled to feature The Dogensteins, STV Almrausch, and The Royal Klobasneks, with a mix of German, Austrian, Czech, and American music.

The Activity Stage will host Oktoberfest competitions, including a Dachshund Dash, keg rolling, a brat-eating contest, a beer stein race, and stein hoisting. Registration is near the Activity Stage during the event. Some contests have an entry fee; others are free. Space is limited.
